Where it all began
Back in time, when I had just come to Kla, I stayed with a close relative. We had lost our parents and did not have means. She would leave me with little or no money. I would buy a small pint of water and popcorn for breakfast and lunch. In the evening, I would run to a nearby Church which cooked for the community and would line up for some pilao. I told myself when I grew older I would feed the hungry. Rukundo Egumeho kitchen exists to do that. We curate weekly meals and identify a community to bless. We also eat together as a church community. In Acts 2: the early church met daily to pray, read the word of God and break bread.
During the Covid 19 lockdown, I fell sick. I was staying alone on top of a hill. As I crawled to reach the pot and draw some drinking water, I promised God if/when He healed me, I would ride my bike (only motorbikes were allowed to move at the time) and reach out to people like myself, with no one to help them. God indeed healed me. I stretched Canvases and painted many abstract murals.
I called a rich friend of mine and requested her to buy my work. She asked me to take the work. That time cars were not allowed to move.. Only open construction/transport trucks were allowed on the road. I hired a small pickup and loaded all the murals. She took one at UGx 600k (170 dollars). I went to the shop and bought a few household items, asked around for a needy family and was led to two people. One was a widow with two young children and another was an old woman abandoned with close to 13 little grandchildren. Their eyes lit up as we shared the love of God with them. I shared the story on face book and before long, many people sent me money, including organisations like … We reached out to entire communities like Namugongo and Katanga, giving even bigger items like sacks of rice, sugar, posho, bicycles and sewing machines. God was faithful.
I developed an initiative called Lovidex. Because of Covid, a Ugandan Dr had invented a solution called Covidex to cure Covid. Lovidex was to cure the heart with Love.
I started calling myself the Black Robinhood. Instead of using bow and arrow to steal from the rich, I would ride my bike to pick items like clothes and medicine from the rich and distributing them to the poor.
I dreamt that one day the cities of the World would traverse with Lovidex motorcycles picking and delivering God’s love through charity.
